Volunteers and Patients at Lakelands Hospice in Corby are making a plea to the public to help provide home baked goodies for their Summer Fete which takes place on Sunday 27th June, 12 – 4pm. The fete will be opened by Richard Oliff of Harborough FM, a keen supporter of the hospice.
Typically, the mention of a summer fete stirs up images of long sunny afternoons, ice-cream stalls and playing children; the volunteers and Patients at Lakelands Hospice are promising all of this with a few extras for Sunday 27th June.
At the fete will also be live entertainment, tea and cakes, Face painter, ‘Bags of Class’ hand bags, crafts, fudge galore, life size DALEKS and a FREE balloon for every child plus much much more. Jodie Jelley Fundraising Manager said ”The summer fete is a great event and a MUST for the calendar. There is a great atmosphere, something for everyone and I have booked the sunshine! So come along and enjoy”.
The fete is the major highlight of Lakelands fundraising calendar and last year the event raised over £4,000, which is fantastic! All proceeds for the event will go towards the new Hospice at Home care service for our patients. The Hospice plans to expand its current service to offer Hospice at Home care during the night as we believe patients should be given choice about where they wish to die.
If you can help by baking or purchasing a cake for Lakelands Summer Fete for Sunday 27th June – all donations welcome from Monday 21st June onwards
